What is wresling pins?

Wrestling pins refer to the act of immobilizing an opponent's shoulders to the mat for a designated period to earn points or win the match. In freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, a pin is achieved when both shoulders of the opponent touch the mat simultaneously. In folkstyle wrestling, a pin occurs when one shoulder of the opponent is in contact with the mat for at least two continuous seconds.

Wrestlers generally try to pin their opponents by moving their body weight over them and controlling their body, often using techniques such as lifts, throws, and holds. Pins are considered a significant accomplishment in wrestling, as they demonstrate a high degree of skill and strength in subduing and immobilizing opponents. A wrestler who pins an opponent is typically awarded extra team points in addition to the points they earned for takedowns, escapes, and other techniques.
